I was inspired by L&J's lovely wedding, as well as the knowledge that our local state rep -- he's the Minority Whip -- would be playing a key role in the upcoming drama associated with the attempt to ban same-sex marriages.
The letter was published in the special 4th of July issue of the paper. At our annual Concert on the Common, attended by all the townies (yes, we're among them), no less than 6 people came up to me and shook my hand for having written the letter. This is a great town! ( Here is the letter... ) Just one note about the letter - I did fib a bit. The wedding was remarkable, in fact it was awesome! |
